Introduction to Sewing for Children | Ages 7–11

A fun and friendly 90-minute introduction that teaches children how to use their sewing machine safely and confidently.

Children will learn about the main parts of their machine, threading, inserting the bobbin, controlling the foot pedal, sewing straight lines, turning corners and securing their stitches. They will practise their new skills and make a simple fabric bookmark to take home.

This session must be completed before attending our regular Children’s Creative Sewing Classes unless your child already has equivalent sewing-machine experience.

Class information

• Suitable for ages 7–11

• Complete beginners are welcome

• Fabric and practice materials are included

• Each child must bring a working sewing machine, power cable, foot pedal and basic sewing tools

• Sewing machines and tools are not provided

• A parent or responsible adult must remain throughout the session

• Places are limited to eight children

Please ensure your child’s machine is in safe working order before attending.

Classes require a minimum of four participants. If the minimum is not reached, we will contact you at least 48 hours beforehand and offer either a transfer to another available date or a full refund.
